Our 2nd Halt – Manikeswara Temple , Sukleswar . A destination which took the members back to 9th – 10th century . The sculptures and artefacts of the recovered place are some of the astounding craft . Sukleswar is a very important place from archaeology point of view. Along with the Manikeswara temple this place has a Bhagavati temple and a sculpture shed housing many sculptured stones and images. All are now under State protection. The Bhagavati image is a Durga image of 10th century and the Manikesvara temple is datable to 9th-10th century but it shows the continuation of Bhaumakara features in its sculptural motives and designs.
