April 28th. Madhu Jayanti. On this day Utkala Gouraba Madhusudan Das , the principal architect of Odisha State was born.. And on this auspicious day last year Cuttack Heritage Walks did put it's first foot forward. A purely citizen's initiative to create awareness regarding heritage history and culture. And more importantly instill a love for our shared heritage. We had planned a few events to celebrate the First Anniversary of CHW. We are keeping on hold those ideas for the moment. We are sure we shall overcome the present challenges. Cuttack Heritage Walks has managed to organise eleven heritage walks, four theme based walks and a few informal discussions within the short span of nine active months. Apart from the gems located in Barabati Fort area, we have covered a number of museums, churches, temples and colonial buildings in Cuttack and Chowdwar. As a mark of our deep respect and admiration for Kulabrudha Madhusudan Das, a few of us walked up to the locked gates of Madhusudan Sangrahalaya located at Sailabala Women's College, Cuttack this morning to pay our homage to the towering personality on behalf of CHW. We prayed not only for the unlocking of the Museum gates and the entire world but also the doors of our hearts as well. Let our hearts be filled with love courage and knowledge.
